Food industry – customer-oriented – international setting
To help our client further the commercial and professional growth of this branch, we are looking for a process and test engineer.
As a process and test engineer at Heat and Control your tasks are highly varied, from providing technical support to your sales colleagues and project management, to carrying out product and application tests.
You take care of the technical side of quotations and in this capacity you are of great value to the sales team. Based on clients’ requests you deliver professional installation drawings (2D) and reliable calculations and quotations. For this, you regularly join your sales colleagues on visits to clients, where you measure the position of installations. You also provide your sales colleagues with specialist knowledge and arguments they can use in presentations and negotiations. Obviously, you make sure you have all the necessary details and ensure technical feasibility, quality and profitability, but you also focus on customer satisfaction. You make sure standard specifications, configurations and calculations are well documented in an up-to-date database. During the handover from sales to project management you are present to give technical support.
As a part of the quotation process you interact regularly with suppliers outside of the company. You request quotes and technical specifications. Also, you will often consult with clients about specifications, required installation space and delivery schedules. As production is mainly concentrated in Australia and the US, you will regularly interact with colleagues in these countries, to discuss if the right solutions are chosen.
You will also be jointly responsible for project management with regard to products and applications testing in the quotation stage. These tests are carried out both internally and externally, at the client's location. Heat and Control's installations are used to test different processes with clients’ products, in order to find the right solution for the client, and as input for an accurate quote. You write a test program in which you describe the starting point and the desired outcome, draw up timetables, arrange for tests, execute them in experimental set-ups and document the results. Also, in consultation with the Regional Sales Manager, you communicate and coordinate with the client.
Heat and Control B.V. offers a challenging role in a small team within a large parent organization. You work in an international, ambitious environment with room for autonomy, innovation and development.
You have a sound educational background at technical college level and experience with working in a professional, technical, international environment. Experience with Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD 2D is desirable. You have an excellent written and oral command of the English language. Knowledge of German is an additional asset. If you don't speak Dutch, you are willing to learn the language.
You are accurate and are good at keeping perspective and monitoring your own schedule. You are committed to quality, are solution-oriented and practical, and have a strong customer focus. Due to your technical knowledge and spatial awareness you are able to efficiently carry out projects and manage them independently. You are service-oriented, responsible and have good communication skills. As a true team player you enjoy working together with your colleagues and contributing to the overall result.
