As an engineer you are involved in projects from basic design at the quotation stage to delivery. Projects vary in size from small projects to large multi-million euro projects. Systems developed as part of these projects are mostly used outside the Netherlands. The customer portfolio consists of aircraft maintenance companies operating at an international level. These companies expect high standards of quality and professionalism. On average, you spend about 75% of your time on working with 2D/3D software and making calculations. The remaining 25% will be spent on communicating (in person/by phone/Skype/email) with co-workers and suppliers. You deal with several technical areas, from materials engineering, strength calculations, dimensions and construction techniques to safety/ergonomics.
You have an extensive range of duties, at the interface of mechanical and structural engineering, and deal with drive engineering, hydraulics, occupational health and safety. You work with the Manager Engineering, a project leader, other engineers and the Sales and Procurement team. In this role, you report to the Manager Engineering. You are responsible for the analysis and technical details of tenders and contracts.
You manage and coordinate the technical side of the contracts. You study all documentation, such as technical specifications, specification of requirements, draft agreements, etc. and take the lead in devising the right, innovative, technical and commercially sound solutions for issues put forward by customers. You make (structural and mechanical) calculations and technical drawings and ensure these documents are delivered in a timely manner. You communicate with suppliers about technical (im)possibilities, gathering information and advising on issues in order to reach the right client-specific solutions. Several times a year you visit customers in the Netherlands and abroad to give presentations or to discuss issues related to projects.

If you don't live in the Netherlands, you are willing to relocate there.
